In fact, I recommend that you do so. Nothing could be easier. It is an old world practice of breaking the ice. The convention is that when two people or a group of people come together for the first time, for various humane reasons, they are often bereft of words, even though an agenda has already been set and they have been made aware of it prior to their meetings. Is this human nature or what?
Don’t you worry, I have often found myself short of breath sometimes, even though I am brimming with ideas and pre-conceived confidence to boot. It is human nature at the best of times, and you have nothing to fear from it. All it takes is a little practice. While it is always good to practice what you preach, practice still makes perfect. Now, with SM or social media networks, I have often found this to be a problem.
Initially, the talking points are set – Agenda setting is what the communications theoreticians have been calling it over the years. Today, we all like to refer to this as starting a conversation, not so. You always find that someone, in his exuberance goes off on a tangent. And then there are those that are, understandably or inexcusably, quite irate. They go off on a ranting and raving spree and sometimes they end up upsetting or offending someone or, worse, an entire group of followers or forum participants.
Speaking of which, the followers I would be referring to here are your organic followers, not those that you may have bought previously. Previously, those followers, and likes, tend to always see you in a favourable light. That is not necessarily inconsistent but it can lead to the most discerning of social media consumers to be a tad suspicious, so much so that they won’t be taking you seriously and will be giving you the proverbial miss.
But, yes you can. You can buy real active Instagram followers. Just be prepared, mind you. Because these folks are going to be given some space to be objective. In other words, if there is something that disconcerts them about your service or product (this assuming that you will be going on a commercial marketing drive), someone out there is going to make it known (in writing). You will accept any critique with grace and some humility, particularly if all this is still quite new to you.
But brace yourself too. Inevitably, there are those who are going to be subjective. They may even, at times, say some highly upsetting things. Even so, you’ll be in a position of command. You’ll be the master of ceremonies if you will. And let’s assume that somewhere out there is someone who is blatantly and thoughtlessly insensitive of others, including yourself, you’ll always be in the commanding position to either reprimand this fellow publicly or summarily remove him from your ‘real’ followers list.
